Leanne was born in Lexington, KY., and spent most of her childhood in Monroe, N.C. She is a 1995 graduate of Western Carolina University. Wanting to raise her family in the best place possible, she relocated to Morganton in 1999 leaving her job as a commercial underwriter with The Hartford Insurance Company.

She is active in the community and is a member of First United Methodist Church, where she and her husband, Chris, teach K-5 Sunday school. She also is a member of the Hearts in Action circle, currently serving as leader and is a former United Methodist Women secretary.

Leanne is the board president of the Burke County Literacy Council and past president of the Forest Hill PTO. Her professional affiliations are with Burke County Multiple Listing Service and Burke County Board of Realtors, where she is serving on the social committee.
